Elite Beat Agents Review

Elite Beat AGENTS ARE GO!
Just like the title says, these agents are go! In all of the touch-screen games I’ve played, this has been the most sensational, addictive and musical game I’ve ever experienced for the Ds. This game has changed my whole view on the touch screen usage.

Sensational! Why?
This game is just as I say, sensational. Whoever had the idea to play classic toe-tappin’ beats to hilarious skits of random events is a genius. The stages are all different and aren’t alike in any way. The multiplayer games (single card and multiple card) prove to be a really fun activity to do with friends. The download demos and training prove to be useful when training friends or giving them a try of the game without having to lose out and not being able to play yourself. And, let’s just say, that this game is packed full of surprises and bountiful excitement.

First you are given a comic strip animation of the story so far...

Certain events happen as you go through each story, and the top screen shows you how well you're doing...or how bad.

Addictive! Why?
Addictive? As bad as it gets in EBA. The songs get your arms wavin’, your voice singin’ and your feet tappin’. I’ve lost levels from singing the tunes and dancing to them instead of focusing on the game play. And for game play, what a treat, a game that is challenging, but not impossible. I’ve had games that I can’t even reach the second level but this game challenges you but with practice you get the beats right and get better and better. Not only that, but the drive to beat your high scores, get that next rank up, those bonus stages, next difficulty level and new songs are just the sweet surprises we need for all our efforts. And I’ve had myself staying up until midnight just to beat that final stage.

Musical! Why?
This is self explanatory, really. Let’s just say that the music in this game is so great I’ve enjoyed songs that I wouldn’t have even attempted to listen to in real life. The game developers have made great choices in the certain songs they’ve used. And the stories that go with them. Each song has some connection to the story, if you look hard enough (which really isn’t that hard at all). This relevance gets you right into the storyline and makes the game that much more enjoyable.

So, what is your overall observation?

Graphics: 8.5/10
Very good, the dancing agents on the bottom are very smooth and the storyline on top is very clear. The graphics fit well and aren’t too detailed while also not too fuzzy.

Game play: 10/10
Face it, the game play using the stylus worked. It is an amazing thing to see the relationship EBA uses between the music and the touch screen.

Difficulty: 9/10
Not too hard, but not too easy. Enough of a challenge so you don’t get it all on the first try but not hard enough that you’ll never get those beats right. Practice, practice, practice is this game’s motto.

Bonuses: 8/10
Let’s see…new songs, ranks, multiplayer bonuses, new stories, and new characters. All are worth getting through that new song.

Replay Value: 10/10
Let’s say I’ll be playing for a long time…
Honestly, who doesn’t get a kick out of dancing for a new high score, especially when it’s one of your favourite songs.

Overall Rating? Why? 9.5/10
This game deserves a 9.5 all the way, no more, no less. Why? Read the above please !

Other comments?
Well, not only have I enjoyed this game, all my friends have enjoyed it. My mom enjoyed the music and I couldn’t stop playing it all night. I believe that shows that I love this game to death and hope for a sequel. Thanks for reading! -
